Ideal candidates will have a minimum of three years of medical and clinical information system implementation experience (EMR/EHR, CPOE, electronic prescribing, health information exchange, etc.).


Director of Clinical Information Systems Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management, integration, and implementation of information and telecommunication systems and their respective technologies in support of the clinical, financial, and strategic missions

  • Partners with clinical departments in their requirements analysis, planning, selection, design, implementation and support of core systems in support of the organization's strategic goals

  • Oversee upgrades/enhancements, consulting resources and general operations as related to clinical information systems

  • Coordinate, maintain and enhance application training program. Develops project(s) documentation, training materials and job aids

  • Responsible for overseeing Support Request activities

  • Work with staff and management to evaluate and revise current processes to take advantage of application functionality

  • Impact and shared responsibility for improvement in quality measures and provider/staff engagement


Director of Clinical Information Systems Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Computer Science or related field is required

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science or related graduate degree is preferred

  • RHIT, RHIA Certification 

  • Minimum three years experience in Application and Production support

  • Experience with managing application teams, build and configuration

  • Minimum of two years of HIMS supervisory experience in an acute or rehabilitation hospital preferred
